​The goal of our project is to help the homeless in Barcelona. We want to create a unique service that provides free haircuts and showers for those living on the streets. The population of homeless people in Barcelona is continuously rising, particularly due to illegal immigration and the inflow of refugees. We believe our project would positively transform our society by fulfilling basic human needs of those who need it the most. Improving personal hygiene of the homeless will significantly improve their sense of self-worth, dignity, comfort and confidence. This is rooted in Maslow’s theory of hierarchy of needs that suggests a person cannot achieve self-actualization and self-growth if his basic human needs are not met such as hygiene, food, shelter, warmth, security.
